BRA-VO FOR BEST FOR BREAST MONTH
Alex Best, ex wife of soccer legend George Best,
flew into the province on Friday 14th May 2010 to launch Northern
Ireland’s first ever ‘Best for Breast Month’.
This campaign, which was created by mother and daughter team Yvonne
McFarland and Jocelyn Reynolds from Orchid Lingerie on the Lisburn
Road, Belfast and The Lingerie Room in Moygashel, comes after shocking
statistics reveal that almost 80% of women are not wearing the correct
bra size.

Jocelyn Reynolds says;
“The statistic that
80% of women are not wearing the correct bra size has not improved
over the last number of years and together with the drastic recent
survey showing that only 29% of women were fitted correctly by high
street stores, we have created ‘Best for Breast Month’
to educate Northern Irish women on the importance of properly fitting
underwear.” She continues;
“Women’s breasts
do change with age, weight loss and gain, during and after pregnancy
and it is imperative that they regularly get fitted as wearing the
incorrect size can cause discomfort, can damage breast tissue and
does nothing to enhance the appearance of your body shape. The main
aim of this campaign is to educate and empower women to know how
a bra fits, so that when they do change shape, they know what to
look for when fitting on lingerie.”
Alex, who was an ‘A’ cup before her
breast augmentation five years ago was wearing a 34D, until today,
when she got measured and realised she was really a 32E. She says;
“I can’t believe
I’ve been wearing the wrong bra size for years. It’s
no wonder I was getting a sore back due to bad posture and bras
were always uncomfortable with wires digging into me. After being
professionally measured by Jocelyn at Orchid my bras feel more comfortable,
my breasts immediately took on a different shape and are in proportion.
I’m delighted with my ‘new boobs’ however I’m
going to have to spend a forture on new underwear!!”

During Best for Breast Month Orchid Lingerie and
The Lingerie Room will be appearing at a number of venues across
Northern Ireland, speaking to women about lingerie, in-store seminars,
holding competitions and raising awareness of this issue.
Both stores have now launched their innovative
lingerie styling packages, created to offer clients professional
advice on how to find and wear lingerie that suits their customers’
needs and expectations. Their expert stylists will ensure your wardrobe
holds the essentials for every outfit. Specialist packages for bridal
and maternity lingerie also available.
